Welcome to 'Designer Island'

Designer Island is a space that highlights the best of Caribbean creative culture. We are inspired by everything about island life – the landscape, the food, the lifestyle and the creative people working in photography, design, illustration, fashion and literature.

Designer Island began as the brainchild of artist and designer, Tanya Marie Williams who founded it as a place to share the work of creative practitioners in Trinidad and the wider Caribbean. In 2012 Designer Island expanded when Ayanna Gillian Lloyd came on board as writer and editor.

Together we want to show you our Caribbean as we know it and live it. Let us show you why we’re so island.
